Overall the golf course is wide-open but there are swaying palms scattered throughout providing some challenges but mostly scenery. The layout features small greens and manicured fairways. There are also a few treacherously placed bunkers along the fairways and greensides. Keys Gate has garnered a large following since it offers a good value. Golfers from as farm south as Marathon Key have been known to come up for a round.
