Briar Bay Golf Course
About
Briar Bay Golf Course, opened in 1975, is an affordably priced executive course that stretches out over 30 acres. The course presents challenges for all players, beginning to advanced. The layout features elevated greens that are small and fast, narrow fairways that are protected with bunkers. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. Although it is located near a residential area the course promises an interesting layout that goes in every direction. Briar Bay Golf Course facility lacks some of the amenities of a private club, but they do boast a practice green and a clubhouse.

Terrible experience
Extremely rude, argumentative staff. As I sat in the golf cart on the 1st tee box, waiting on another party to play with, the rude lady running the facility came up yelling that I was not allowed to go out as a single. I told her that I’m clearly in the cart waiting. She then scolded me because a young man ignored her and played solo before me. I told her that I’m not responsible for what he chose to do and she continued to repeat herself. Never again. Course was subpar to begin with.
Very nice course
Every hole very good maintained and green very smooth. Each hole is Challenging enough. Good round 9holes play!
Cheap but just for practice ok
Very low rate, but municipal short course with Par 3s and a few short Par 4s. Not a real round of golf. Just for a quick practice round ok. Don‘t expect too much - you get what you pay for ($13 for 9 holes)
you get more than you pay for
had a great time. $30 for tee time, cart, and rental clubs, you can’t beat it.
Great value
First course I’ve played at since 2018. I used to play competitively when I lived in California with a +10 Handicap. Stumbled across it through this app because of the “Hot Deal” price, which included a cart. Interested me because it not only was a 9-Hole course to shake the rust off, but a lot of reviews talked about being kid friendly as well. Although the tee times were delayed by almost 20-30 mins, the speed of play wasn’t too bad. It’s definitely a course for beginners, so players need to manage expectations when booking. It’s perfect to work short game and I only needed to take the driver out on one hole. Staff seemed friendly and somewhat accommodating to pair up teams and keep the flow of play going.
A few negatives are parking is tight with limited spaces, only a small putting green to warm up before the round, and the “pro shop” is very limited. Best to have all equipment and accessories prior to showing up.
Overall enjoyed my experience and loved that my kids could ride in the cart with me. I would say it is the best value course and maximizes the space for a fun few hours of play.
First visit
Inwas able to reserve time the day before for 1pm, the check in process was fast and painless and the crew was friendly.
Mislead by golf now
Golf now showed this course as an 18 hole with cart included. When I arrived at the course the club house was a shed, and the course is only a 9 hole course. The golf now price only gets you 1 round, but they try to sell you on a second time through for half price. Pace of play was terrible as I sat in the second tee box for 30 min before leaving the course. Conditions of course was not bad though.
